Here it is, a look at Cardiff Film and Comic-Con, which took place in Cardiff (obviously) over the weekend (1st and 2nd of March). Here I got lots of autographs, met fans and bought great merchandise. This was my first Showmasters event, and hopefully, wont be my last. Join me as I take a more detailed look into what it was like at Cardiff Film and Comic-Con.
Upon arriving, we were greeted by the Batmobile, used in the 60s TV show. The Motopoint arena was packed with costumed fans, but it was much easier to move from 9am-11am, as you could only get in by buying Early Bird tickets then. I got loads of autographs, mostly from the Doctor Who guys. There were many stands selling loads of great things and many of them had Funko stuff. I ended up coming away with 3 of them. They were Catwoman (now signed), Invisible Bilbo Baggins and Dr Emmett Brown (reviews coming soon!).
Listening to the Doctor Who talk was great fun, and I learnt, thanks to Caitlin Blackwood, that Matt Smith's pants once split open during filming for Series 5. After a little advertisement during this talk, I went to Big Finish's stand to check it out, having never heard one. I came away with a copy of Spare Parts, and its great. I can safely say I will be picking up more of Big Finish's stuff. There were many guests there, from many different things. While there I met:
Paul McGann (8th Doctor) Katy Manning (Jo Grant) Bernard Cribbins (Wilfred Mott) Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) Sophie Aldred (Ace) | Nick Briggs (Dalek Voices) David Gooderson (Davros) Dave Prowse (Darth Vader) Lee Meriwether (Catwoman) Hattie Hayridge (Holly) |
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to visit many more of Showmaster's events in the future as they are well organised, and the Virtual Queuing system is really clever. You can check out a gallery of images below, and I hope you have enjoyed this run down. Timelord3 out!
